COACH
Julie Pfleiderer is a multimedia artist based in Brussels and Berlin. From a background of theatre, she works across the boundaries of performing arts and expanded cinema. In her work Julie explores the border of documentary and fiction. She is interested in the shift where fiction becomes truth and truth starts to be fictional. Julie enjoys collaborative processes where different media and approaches are put in dialogue to create friction out of permanent differentiation.
Julie studied theatre directing at Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin after two years of being director’s assistant at Schauspielhaus Köln. In 2009 she expanded her knowledge with the Post Master for Performing Arts at A.PASS in Antwerp, Belgium. From 2011-2012 she pursued her interest in film, studying at SoundImageCulture in Brussels, Belgium and at Uniondocs in Brooklyn NYC in 2019.
Her theatre and performance work was presented in international theatres and festivals such as Deutsches Theater Berlin, Staatstheater Mainz, Schauspielhaus Wuppertal, Sophiensaele Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, FFT Düsseldorf, Körber Stiftung Junge Regie Hamburg, HAU Berlin (DE), Schauspielhaus Wien, Steirischer Herbst Graz, BRUT Wien (AT), Gessneralee Zurich (CH), Kaaitheater Brussels, BUDA Kortrijk (BE).
