Synopsis<\/h2>

Roman, een kunstenaar uit Sint-Petersburg die voor zijn studie naar Amsterdam vertrok, zag zijn leven een onverwachte wending nemen door de oorlog tussen Rusland en Oekra\u00efne in 2022. Dit conflict leidde tot een persoonlijke reis van introspectie en herontdekking. De ervaringen van Roman, interviews met mede-Russen in Amsterdam en interacties met Vladlena Sandu daagden zijn kijk op zijn thuisland uit. Hij begon aan een project om de isolatie van burgers van het openbare leven in Rusland te onderzoeken, met als doel deze \u201cidiotie\u201d te begrijpen en een manier te vinden om zich ervan te bevrijden. Zijn verhaal weerspiegelt de worsteling om persoonlijke overtuigingen te verzoenen met een veranderende maatschappelijke en politieke omgeving.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n

Biografie<\/h2>

Roman Ermolaev (1991, St. Petersburg, RU) studeerde in 2017 af aan de VAV-afdeling van de Gerrit Rietveld Academie met een Eervolle Vermelding. In hetzelfde jaar ontving hij de EYE Research Lab Award voor het beste audiovisuele werk in het EYE Filmmuseum. In januari 2018 ontving hij de Young Art Support Amsterdam Award en werd zijn afstudeerproject Holy Land evenals zijn eerdere werk Le Macaour (gepresenteerd in MUBI) onderdeel van de collectie van het EYE Filmmuseum.In 2018 behoorde hij tot de jonge kunstenaars die werden gepresenteerd bij SBK Sprouts Young Talents. Zijn werk is tentoongesteld in diverse galeries, instellingen en filmfestivals in binnen- en buitenland en zijn films zijn vertoond op diverse filmfestivals waaronder IFF ROTTER- DAM.In 2020 werd hij genomineerd door EYE Filmmuseum en bekroond door Stichting 3 Package Deal AFK. In 2022 won zijn film GOYA in de categorie korte film van de Buma Music in Media Awards.In 2018-2019 doceerde hij beeldende kunst aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie.Sinds 2021 geeft hij een cursus filmgeschiedenis aan CVA Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
