Ze realiseerde verschillende documentaires die wereldwijd vertoond werden en bekroond zijn met (inter)nationale prijzen. Ze publiceert en doceert regelmatig internationaal over documentairefilm, cinema en visuele\/performatieve antropologie. Ze is vastbenoemd professor en senior onderzoeker aan KASK &amp; CONSERVATORIUM, School of Arts Gent (B).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"652\" data-end=\"1248\">Haar werk situeert zich op het snijvlak van documentaire, antropologie en beeldende kunst. Ze verkent diverse documentaire strategie\u00ebn en onderzoekt de antropologische relatie tussen zelf en ander, terwijl ze tegelijk het medium film op een reflexieve manier bevraagt. Ze onderzoekt tegenstellingen zoals feit en fictie, verbeelding en observatie, representatie en ervaring, en vertrekt daarbij vanuit het belang van het beeld in onze multiculturele samenleving. Zij biedt tegenbewijs door de verhalen van de filmmakers onder de loep te nemen. Maar in hoeverre kan deze weerlegging resoneren in een film die voornamelijk in westerse handen is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prism, 2021 (78&#8242;)<\/strong><br \/>\nPrism geregisseerd met Rosine Mbakam en El\u00e9onore Yameogo stelt het racisme in de westerse cinema ter discussie. Hoe kunnen drie makers met verschillende huidskleuren samen in \u00e9\u00e9n beeld? De film problematiseert de neutraliteit van de camera en haar machtsongelijkheid om andere ongelijkheden in de samenleving op basis van huidskleur aan te pakken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lili, 2015 (12&#8242;)<\/strong><br \/>\nDeze korte film in 16mm bevraagt het zogenaamd neutrale karakter van de ideologisch beladen praktijk van China girls, waarbij jonge Kaukasische vrouwen worden gefilmd in een technische oefening om de kleuren van de camera te kalibreren. Kan technologie zelf racistisch zijn?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Letter Home, 2015 (11&#8242;)<\/strong><br \/>\nDit chaotische moza\u00efek van kleuren en impressionistische pixels, begeleid door flarden van concrete geluiden, roept Van Dienderen&#8217;s reizen naar Japan op. Het originele materiaal, opgenomen met een camcorder, is verward door algoritmes. Deze po\u00ebtische film nodigt de kijker uit om met de auteur mee te reizen op een zintuiglijke en schilderkunstige reis<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Cherry Blossoms, 2012 (12&#8242;)<\/strong><br \/>\nIn deze video-installatie en korte film, opgenomen in een vertaalcabine in een van de vergaderzalen<br \/>\nvan het Europees Parlement, laat vertaalster Carly Wijs zich betoveren door het temperament van Japanse jongeren. In deze genormeerde context komt een voorbijgaande menselijkheid aan de oppervlakte.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patrasche, A Dog of Flanders, Made in Japan, 2008 (85&#8242;)<\/strong><br \/>\nDeze film, gemaakt met Didier Volckaert, volgt de verbeelding van Vlaanderen, gebaseerd op een 19e-eeuwse Britse roman, via de enorme schare fans in Japan, de VS en Groot-Brittanni\u00eb.
