Hij doceerde aan filmscholen (INSAS Brussel, Filmacademie Amsterdam) en universiteiten (WWU M\u00fcnster, AMU Marseille). Hij is hoogleraar audiovisuele antropologie aan de universiteit van Aix-Marseille. Zijn laatste boek is &#8216;Cinematic Ethnography: Cultures Experiencing through some audiovisual practices&#8217; (MUP, 2024). Hij was medeoprichter van SIC &#8211; SoundImageCulture project lab. Hij maakte vijftien films (experimenteel, documentaires en ficties) en won negen prijzen. Zijn vroege documentaires onderzochten sociale en religieuze thema&#8217;s. Gevolgd door een serie korte werken genaamd \u2018Experimental Ethnographies\u2019. Zijn eerste hybride speelfilm Surya is wijd verspreid. Recentelijk maakte hij drie lange speelfilms rond migratiethema&#8217;s &#8211; Brak (fictie), Kal\u00e8s (documentaire), We Others (hybride). Zijn werk maakt gebruik van verschillende modi: Collaborative, Hybrid en Sensory cinema.
