{"id":7328,"date":"2023-08-30T09:03:31","date_gmt":"2023-08-30T09:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/soundimageculture.org\/team\/andrea-luka-zimmerman\/"},"modified":"2023-08-30T09:03:31","modified_gmt":"2023-08-30T09:03:31","slug":"andrea-luka-zimmerman","status":"publish","type":"team","link":"https:\/\/soundimageculture.org\/nl\/team\/andrea-luka-zimmerman\/","title":{"rendered":"Andrea Luka Zimmerman"},"content":{"rendered":"<section id=\"sic-regular-text-block_0a8789882bcbf7ec5a3fb18ea1cd8ce6\" class=\"sic-regular-text single-column intro-text\"><div class=\"content-wrapper\"><p>Andrea Luka Zimmerman is a Jarman Award winning artist, filmmaker and cultural activist whose multi layered practice calls for a profound re-imagining of the relationship between people, place and ecology.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n<section id=\"sic-regular-text-block_e24b22b0c4ea2754a394ff11ee126179\" class=\"sic-regular-text single-column\"><h2 class=\"section-title page-title\">Biography<\/h2><div class=\"content-wrapper\"><p>Films include the Artangel-produced &#8216;Here for Life&#8217; (2019) that won a Special Mention at Locarno Film Festival, &#8216;Erase and Forget&#8217; (2017), premiering at the Berlin Film Festival and nominated for the Original Documentary Award, &#8216;Estate, a Reverie&#8217; (2015) and &#8216;Taskafa, Stories of the Street&#8217; (2013), written and voiced by the late John Berger. Selected exhibitions include &#8216;Art Class&#8217; at METAL and LUX, &#8216;Shelter in Place&#8217; at Esturary Festival, &#8216;Civil Rites&#8217;, the London Open, Whitechapel Gallery, &#8216;Common Ground&#8217; at Spike Island, Bristol and &#8216;Real Estates&#8217; at Peer Gallery. Andrea co-founded the cultural collectives Fugitive Images and Vision Machine. She co-edited the books &#8216;Estate\u2019 and &#8216;Doorways: Women, Homelessness Trauma and Resistance&#8217; and has published extended essays in Anthologies as well as open access platforms such as &#8216;Open Democracy&#8217;, &#8216;La Furia Umana&#8217;, \u2018Another Gaze\u2019, among others.
