Call for Projects SIC 2025

Our Call for Projects 2025 is now open, until 10 October 2024. We look forward to receiving your projects!
—-

SoundImageCulture is a one year program that accompanies filmmakers and artists in the development of their film project. At SIC, a group of coaches – renowned artists/filmmakers – and a group of peers will follow your project in a supportive and professional environment.

SIC has been thought by filmmakers for filmmakers and artists in order to help them break the solitude of the creation process.

It is a framework based on the idea of thinking by doing, on discussion around concrete audiovisual materials.

What we look for

  • We are looking for projects that are singular, authentic and push the borders of audiovisual language.
  • Our aim is to support the participant to develop their artistic vision fully.
  • We give priority to projects that already have visual materials, footage, sounds, photos

What we offer

  • Filmmakers, artists and thinkers brainstorm collectively on your project;
  • Personal mentoring;
  • Encounters with international guests allowing new viewpoints on your project;
  • Masterclasses and seminars;
  • Introductions to the local production facilities and infrastructures;
  • A public presentation of your work at the end of the cycle.

Collective sessions take place about every two months in Brussels, Belgium.
The spoken language is English.

What We Expect

  • To be present at the collective sessions
  • To bring new materials (rushes, edits, try-outs) to every session
  • To hold at least one meeting with your personal coach in between sessions
  • To give feedback and assistance to your peers

Selection

Our selection is based on a project proposal for a film.
We ask for a document where you answer the following questions on maximum 2 pages:
  1. What is the subject of your project and why do you want to make it?
  2. What is the relation between you and your subject?
  3. What is the formal approach that you envision for the film? Is there a relation between your subject and the form you choose?
Save this document as a PDF and upload it using the application form below.
Feel free to add images to the document, as additional pages (max. 5 MB).

Documents with the answers on more than two pages of text, will be rejected.

In the form below: Share a link of your previous work and/or of audiovisual materials related  to the project.
This is very important to us. Please check link and password (if any) before sending them.
> up to 20 minutes of audiovisual materials related to the proposal and up to 2 previous works maximum.

The language of submission is English.
