    About Eva van Tongeren

Eva van Tongeren (Amersfoort, 1990) is a visual artist working mainly in film and video. She is a LUCA School of Arts graduate and, since 2016, runs Visite Festival, a collage of experimental documentary and political cinema. She most recently joined the curatorial team of Courtisane and handles the distribution of Auguste Orts productions.

In her own artistic practice, she incorporates her social and anthropological interests into personal stories with universal themes. While her cinematic works vary in form, they connect through the shared subject of caring. Her films and installations have been shown at IFFR, Videonale, Ann Arbor, EMAF, Oberhausen, Courtisane, Kunsthalle Osnabrück, Images Toronto, …

As a curator Eva van Tongeren is interested in bodypolitics, feminist perspectives, gender issues, pleasure, sex, violence, transgression and activism.
