At 20, Keren left Israel to grow as a dancer, yet after eight years in Europe, the contradictions she left behind pull her back. As she joins rallies against the government and actions in solidarity with Palestinians, she collapses and rebuilds hope through love and friendship. October 7th erupts. Gaza is shattered. Keren’s camera stays close to her body and mind, unfiltered, refusing to look away from what unfolds in her name.

Keren Kraizer (b. 1996, IL/PS) is a multidisciplinary artist working between Israel, Palestine, and Brussels. She trained in dance and performance, completing her MA in Performance and Choreography at P.A.R.T.S., and has worked as a dancer, choreographer, actor, and research assistant, collaborating with artists such as Christine De Smedt, Gaetan Rusquet, Kopano Maroga, Nemo Flouret, Estefanía Álvarez Ramírez, and Lydia McGlinchey. Her acting work includes the short film ADA (2020, main actor, winner of the Jury Award for Fiction at Leuven International Short Film Festival).

Beyond performance, Keren is a photographer and filmmaker. She completed the experimental filmmaking program SoundImageCulture (SIC) in 2024, and is currently finishing her first full-length documentary. Her previous film, Temporary Communities (2022), set between the landscapes of a volcanic island and the streets of Jerusalem, premiered at the WTF Festival in Ghent.

Alongside her artistic practice, Keren is an anti-fascist activist. She initiated The GARAGE, an underground art space hosting open mic events, exhibitions, and concerts; participates in Didreshet Droor, a group dedicated to thoroughly learning about the occupation; and is part of the Jordan Valley activist network, standing in solidarity with Palestinian shepherd communities in the West Bank. Since late 2024, she has also run a financial support network for a family in Gaza as part of the Support Network for Gaza initiative.

À 20 ans, Keren quitte Israël pour s’épanouir en tant que danseuse. Mais après huit années passées en Europe, les contradictions qu’elle avait laissées derrière elle la rattrapent. Alors qu’elle participe à des manifestations contre le gouvernement et à des actions de solidarité avec les Palestiniens, elle voit ses espoirs s’effondrer puis se reconstruire grâce à l’amour et à l’amitié. Le 7 octobre éclate. Gaza est dévastée. La caméra de Keren reste au plus près de son corps et de son esprit, sans filtre, refusant de détourner le regard de ce qui se déroule en son nom.

Parallèlement à sa pratique artistique, Keren est une militante antifasciste. Elle a lancé The GARAGE, un espace artistique underground qui accueille des événements open mic, des expositions et des concerts ; elle participe à Didreshet Droor, un groupe qui se consacre à l’étude approfondie de l’occupation ; et elle fait partie du réseau d’activistes de la vallée du Jourdain, solidaire des communautés de bergers palestiniens de Cisjordanie. Depuis fin 2024, elle gère également un réseau de soutien financier pour une famille de Gaza dans le cadre de l’initiative Support Network for Gaza.

Na acht jaar actief te zijn geweest in de Brusselse danswereld, besluit Keren terug te keren naar Israël, haar geboorteland. Op 5 oktober 2023 komt ze daar aan, slechts twee dagen voor de aanval van Hamas en het uitbreken van de oorlog. Dit videodagboek, dat zich over meerdere jaren uitstrekt en van binnenuit de samenleving werd gefilmd, onderzoekt de collectieve psyche van een Israëlische natie waarvan de interne breuklijnen dreigen te leiden tot implosie.
