synopsis
Summer 2025: three of the director’s cousins return to their grandparents’ village, where a
night by the sea triggers violent repercussions in the name of honor. The incident sparks
tensions across generations and borders. Through diary fragments, the film traces the director’s
response as she navigates a complex female identity and her search for belonging.




biography
Asma Laajimi (b. 1999, Tunisia) is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Brussels. Working across
film, photography, text, and installation, she develops poetic narratives where the intimate meets the
political. Translating lived experience into fictions that examine overlooked everyday political
realities, her practice engages with postcolonial perspectives, feminist thought, and urban imaginaries.
