On the entrance sign to the village someone has scratched the words NO FUTURE with a stone, just below the word RIEME. Not that very long ago, this village located on the banks of the Gent- Terneuzen canal was a rural and quiet place to live. But then the village came into the radar of the expansion of the maritime canal industry. Expropriations followed and more and more industry has been showing up at the village horizon. Louis, Jeanette, Finn, Furkan, Michel, Emma and David all live in Rieme. Can they find a future for their village that is surrounded by the rapidly encroaching industry?
