When Robbert, a recently divorced 55-year-old Dutch artist, asks a group of trauma-affected disadvantaged youth from Ostend to help him restore an old racing sailboat, an unconventional team of outsiders is formed. They decide to participate as underdogs in one of the most notorious multi-day sailing regattas in the world: the Fastnet Race. To do this, they must not only learn to sail as a team but also deal with their own demons.
