Tapia
by David Garcia
Synopsis
Through my relationship with my grandparents, I explore the traces of memory that remain in the landscapes tied to our family history. Tapia de Casariego in Spain, where I’ve spent all my summers since my childhood, and Mar del Plata in Argentina, where my grandmother lived before returning to Spain. Those two landscapes, one that I’ve lived, the other that I imagined, hold the memory of my family. They embody the presence of my grandparents.
The film invites to question the invisible links between people and the places they inhabit. It reflects on how landscapes hold what we leave behind.
